MI Center for Change: Who Are We? What Do We Do?
Hey! You may know me already, or you may be new to MI Center for Change, but I figured I could tell you a bit more about myself and my organization! Even if you know me, you might not know these fun facts!
If you want my official resume, I’ll pop it down at the bottom of this message.
My name is Hillary Bolter, and I’m the founder of MI Center for Change. I am a Motivational Interviewing trainer!
Who Am I? Random Facts!
- I used to love rock climbing, before my prefrontal cortex fully developed, I had kids and my mortality became all the more important!
- I grew up in the city of Atlanta, ITP (Inside The Perimeter), not to be confused with what is now called OTP (Outside of the Perimeter), but now I’m a mountain girl and for the past 20 years can call the lovely Asheville NC my home.
- I love the wilderness. I have slept outside over 500 nights in my lifetime.
- I’m a social worker. I love to help people, and my righteous ideas for others is a part of why I need to remain in “MI recovery,” as I call it. I freakin’ love being a trainer because it keeps me grounded in the ethics and practice of MI, which keeps my bossy ideas for others on the back burner.
- I have a dog and two cats, and they are all orange. They love to nap in the sun and so do I.
- If I’m reaching for a sweet, I only like dark chocolate. Don’t mess with my chocolate and put milk in it. Well, unless it’s coconut milk…
- Oh, and I can absolutely hold my own at hip-hop night at the dance club…
