Did you know we can use Motivational Interviewing with ourselves??

This is going to be a 3-email series on utilizing the tools of Motivational Interviewing with YOU.

Let’s look at how this can apply to YOU! 

(We could all use a little self care and self love now, right?! Post election intensity, pandemic, being a helping professional, upcoming holidays that are gonna look different than usual… you know A LOT has been straining and draining us!)

“Let’s start at the very beginning, a very good place to start!” MI spirit. 

The spirit of MI is all about our ‘attitude.’ Attitude toward clients. And in this case, attitude toward self. How are you feeling toward YOU right now? How is your self talk these days?

Could you use a little extra self compassion right now? Extra self-acceptance? Trust your inner wisdom? Are you getting off course with your WHY? 

And gosh, you gotta know by now that how WE are doing impacts our work with clients. ‘Let It Begin with You’ is a favorite slogan of mine!

Motivational Interviewing Tip of the Week: I invite you to take a moment and recognize you are doing a damn good job balancing everything you do. Where can you practice a little more self compassion? Acceptance? Feel your shoulders drop and allow yourself, just for today, to be where you are. You are doing a freaking good job.
